Hart of Dixie is a TV show that follows the life of a young doctor names Zoe Hart who is inspired by her dad and aspired to be like him after graduating from med school. It season one has a series of 22 episodes. Zoe was the best in her class and is determined to become a cardio thoracic surgeon just like her dad. However, this does not happen and she decides to move on and joins Dr. Harley Wilkes to work in his small practice in Alabama. Unfortunately for Zoe, when she arrives at the small gulf town, Harley is already dead but has left a will with half of his medical practice for her.

In the same town, there is Brick Breeland who is a rival doctor and his daughter Lemon who do not really welcome her. Zoe makes friends with the mayor; former football star Lavon Hayes; Wade Kinsella, her neighbor and George Tucker a good looking lawyer who also happens to be Lemon’s fiancé. Zoe loses her patience and decided to leave the small town. However, just before she makes a move, she gets a surprise visit by her New York mother, which forces her to hang around a bit. In this period, she discovers the self she never knew about and she discovers some fun in the small town.

Hart of Dixie 1.22 “The Big Day” Review

This episode of ‘Hart of Dixie’ was titled ‘The Big Day’ and for many fans this was indeed a big day as what transpired in the episode was just what they were waiting for. What it did was to place the issue of the love triangle right in the forefront.

Okay, before we go any further, we have said that this is what some fans if not most would want. But there would be those who would naturally feel that ‘Hart of Dixie’ had been browbeaten into that corner and has now become like any other show. They would go on to say that the writers and creators of the show had blinked first and have started responding to pressure to find the easy way out, which is what the love triangle would be to them.

Back to the show; Zoe is now in the middle -which is where some ladies will kill for. She is in the middle of deciding which guy to pick and they are both game. This is a time honored theme in television and cinema history. How close it is to reality is an open ended question but now, Wade and George have been given the right to play their cards and see who will come out on top.

But one good thing this had done is give people like Lavon and Lemon some room the breath. Lavon is a moving heart break. He is chinning up but has not really gotten over his issue. As for Lemon, she is more into the idea of marriage than the reality of marriage. She did show a somewhat subdued and retrospective character in a round about sort of way.

She had a chat with Anna Beth in which she indirectly talked about her errors. She was very vague to say the least but it was still a giant leap for someone like her.

But she came to realize the importance of time in a relationship. That saying sorry or turning a new leaf may not bring instant results as things might need time to really settle down. She can’t really rush the healing process.

George backed down on Lemon. He is now beginning to be conscious of his feelings for Zoe. He simply was not sure of diving into something deeper with Lemon. Some fans would be angry with him for taking this long to see what everyone had seen. But it was kind of hilarious how everything was screaming at him to stop. The rain, leaking roof, dog eating the cake; what was left was for a statue or a person in a picture to start talking to him!

This season’s finale has given a very good sense of direction. It would be interesting to see how things will evolve now.
